It would be nice to be able to create a list of groceries from the browser. Some things you could do with this list:

Print it off.
Find the cheapest store.
Add full recipes to it.

Least expensive from n stores

Allow the shopper to pick their favourite stores and then create the least expensive shopping list from those stores. So buy milk and eggs at store A and cheese and bread from store B.

Mashup with Gmaps to provide cheapest groceries vs gas money

Google maps can now factor in cost of driving with directions.

This provides a unique opportunity to make your product useful. Above and beyond simply providing maps to stores for cheapest prices on every item, you should take into account the cost of driving to these locations before recommending users visit them.

For example:
I'm looking for milk and cereal.
Cereal is 1.99 at market 1 and 1.50 at market 2.
However, milk is on sale (savings of 1 dollar) at market 1.
BUT, the cost of the trip from store 1 to store 2 is 1.15. Therefore, it is NOT a sale which makes it worth a trip to two markets. Taking advantage of both savings would be the most expensive option when accounting for the cost of the trip. Therefore, the map should take the user only to the store which saves them the most money (i.e., the one with milk on sale only).

It would be nice if either
a) store addresses linked through to Google Maps, or
b) this was integrated somehow into the site itself (e.g. directions to this store, map stores near here, etc.)

Compare Prices Per Unit

Make it easier to see if $1.99 for 350 grams is a better deal than 6.75 for 1 KG by listing price per unit. You already have the data.

List produce.

PLU listings (not sure how comprehensive these are) can be found at http://www.plucodes.com/ in "Excel format" (i.e. HTML.) Having a way for users to enter prices on produce would expand the scope nicely.

Items without barcodes?

I see you have Pita Pit as a store. Their pitas do not have barcodes but specials and prices would still be useful. Do you have the ability to add these items as well despite not having a barcode?
